Creative Living and New Ideas

Hi there!

I would looooovvveeeee some feedback about this post!

I’m going to change the subject matter of this blog so that I can include ALL my creative endeavors.

I feel like I’m really limiting myself when I only post the drawings that I’m working on. Because I do so much more than just draw. I know I post other projects that I work on as well, but I really think this blog could use a revamping. I don’t want to keep it only about art. I would like that to be a main focus, but not the end all, be all of this space.

I have put myself in that box, and now it’s time to climb on out.

Because, let’s face it, we all have more than one specific interest, don’t we? My original intent was to just use this blog as a space to share my art that I’m doing. To be honest, I’m getting a little bored with that. I feel like I have so many more creative outlets than just drawing. Plus, with my work life not really balancing out my drawing life, I’m not accomplishing as much as I would like in the amount of time I would like. I do take on little mini projects though, in between the big ones.

Right now, this week, I have re-done a TON of photos for my Etsy shop. That has required some creativity, it’s not quite as easy as it sounds. So I have spent a lot of time on that project. I’m pretty happy with *most* of my results, but there is definitely more work to be done. My current drawing has been put on hold for this photo project.

This photo project has taken up a lot of time over the past few days. I’m still not done with it. Since I have limited my topics on this blog, there was no way I was writing about all that. I feel like I could write so many paragraphs about the struggles of photographing my drawings and paintings!

To me, creativity is NOT only about artwork that is made. It’s how you live your life. It’s unique solutions to solve problems. It’s baking a cake. It’s drawing. It’s painting your front door a lovely shade of blue because it makes you happy. I want to be able to write about all these things without sticking myself in one tiny little niche.

Stay tuned with me while I change this place around and make room for different things. I would love to know what you think! Drop me a comment or an email and let me know. I look forward to this change!

  1. Personally, I think you sound more energized then bored. You’ve discovered that you have a more expansive nature. Indeed, creativity is a formidable springboard, and you’re ready to bounce. Very exciting!
